Thank you for your request.
In order for a litter to be announced to the SABT, the following stipulations:
-
Both sire and dam have to be SABT registered.
-
Both sire and dam have to be owned at the time by SABT members in good standing. To
see if a breeder is an SABT breeder in good standing, please click
here.
-
The owner of the dam has to be the one to announce the litter.
-
The owner of the dam has to have a kennel name registered with the SABT.
-
If the sire is not owned by the same SABT member that owns the dam, the owner
of the sire has to certify that the sire is the father of the litter. This is done
by both breeders logging in and filling in this form.
-
Litters have to be announced before the pups are six months old. There are good
reasons for the cutoff. Buyers do not remember anymore the birth date nor who the dog's
parents are, the breeder sometimes does not even remember the buyer and if the SABT is not
careful here, it will run the risk of jeapardizing the entegrity of the SABT pedigrees.
A breeder is not obligated to announce litters. If you aim at eventually SABT
registering the puppy you are buying, make sure that the breeder agreed to
actually announce your pup (as registerable and not as pet quality or not suitable for breeding) plus
that the litter can be announced as described earlier.

The outcome of a litter announcement is birth certificates emailed to the breeder in PDF format.
There is no longer hard copies of the birth certificates mailed to the members.
