The SABT's USA and Canadian memberhip experienced tremendous growth in 2007. The number
of members increased with about 70% and so did the number of dogs appraised. This growth
allows for a reduction in SABT fees for USA and Canadian members. Please see the below for the
fees that are in the process of and those that had already been adjusted.
With the increase in the number of dogs appraised, the appraisal netto cost was lower than
anticipated. There is thus a
which the members can
apply towards their 2008 SABT service charges. As in the past, this is not a refund, but a
credit the member can apply towards their 2008 service charges.

Note *) After all USA appraisal tours are done for a given calendar year, the related income
and expenses are added up to see if the participating members have any excess monies collected
that can be applied to the following year's SABT member related charges.
**) These rates are for all pups born November 1st, 2007
and later and announced in 2008. For all other older pups, the rates are the 2007's $20 and $40
per pup charges.
***) The difference between regular and electronic
memberships is that electronic members can only download the newsletters from this web site, where
regular members will also get a hardcopy of the newsletter mailed to them. Members can only
change between electronic and regular membership before the first newsletter of the year has gone
to the printers.
Once a dog had been Video Appraised in 2007 and onwards, the relevant member will get
a credit towards appraising, via Regular USA appraisal, that same dog later on.
Video Appraised dogs will get a $45 credit towards the very next Regular Appraisal.

Current members please include your SABT member number with the documentation (checks,
emails, etc.). Please email
your board member when
you drop a check off/make a payment so that the board member will know to look out for
it, allocate it to the appropriate SABT account and notify you of receipt of the monies.
Canadians can also opt to mail USD money orders.
Comparing SABT Rates to Other Registry Rates
For quite some time now given web sites list the SABT fees against that of registries
like the AKC. Here are some of the rates those sites omit to list:

Note ***) For $32 the AKC only issues a four-generation birth certificate. The SABT's five-generation
birth certificate is included in the litter announcement charge. One can thus argue that the AKC's
four-generation birth certificate costs $34 ($32 + $2 (per pup litter announcement fee)) and the SABT's five-generation
certificate costs $10 ($0 + $10 (per pup litter announcement fee)).
The USBA's two-generation birth certificate is $20 versus the SABT's five-generation certificate for $10.
